Humanitarian response
Supporting dignity and resilience during humanitarian crisis
TUSIC seeks to support responsible, community-informed responses to urgent needs affecting people in Sudan and Sudanese communities displaced across borders.
The humanitarian context
Conflict and displacement continue to disrupt everyday life
Communities affected by the crisis in Sudan face overlapping challenges, including displacement, interrupted livelihoods, limited access to essential services and increased protection risks.
People who leave their homes may arrive in unfamiliar locations without reliable information, established support networks or consistent access to food, water, healthcare, shelter and other basic necessities.
The nature and severity of these needs differ between communities. Effective humanitarian action must therefore begin with careful assessment, local knowledge and meaningful participation by the people affected.

Personal information should only be collected when necessary and handled according to approved safeguards.
Inclusion and accessibility
Response planning should consider barriers affecting women, children, older people, persons with disabilities and marginalized communities.
Feedback and complaints
People affected by an activity should have an appropriate way to ask questions, provide feedback or report concerns.
Community-led response
Local knowledge strengthens humanitarian action
Communities are often the first to respond during a crisis. They understand local conditions, existing support networks, cultural considerations and the barriers people face.
TUSIC seeks to recognize this capacity and include community voices in assessment, planning, delivery and review.
Help identify the needs requiring the most urgent attention.
Shape activities around local realities and capabilities.
Provide feedback on relevance, access and implementation.
Build on existing knowledge, networks and local leadership.
