TUSIC membership is intended to provide an organized pathway for eligible people to support the mission, participate responsibly and contribute to the organization’s community.
Purpose of membership
Membership builds connection between people and the organization
Membership can help create a stable organizational community of people who understand TUSIC’s mission and want to support its responsible development.
Depending on TUSIC’s bylaws and approved membership structure, members may receive organizational information, participate in designated activities or exercise specific governance rights.
Membership must not be described as including voting rights, board eligibility, financial benefits or decision-making authority unless those rights are expressly established in TUSIC’s governing documents.

Members should protect TUSIC’s mission, reputation and community relationships through lawful, respectful and responsible conduct.

When membership opens, applicants should receive clear information about the process, privacy practices and possible outcomes.

Provide accurate information using the approved membership form.
Assessment
The authorized decision-maker reviews eligibility and any required supporting information.
Decision
The applicant receives confirmation, a request for information or another approved outcome.

Understanding organizational roles
Member, volunteer, director and staff are different roles
A person may hold more than one role only when each appointment has been made through its proper process. Holding one role does not automatically grant another.
Holds the rights and responsibilities assigned by TUSIC’s bylaws and membership framework.
Performs an approved unpaid assignment under supervision.
Serves on the governing board following a valid election or appointment.
Performs an authorized employment or contractual role under applicable terms.
Important membership boundary
Membership does not authorize representation of TUSIC
Members may not sign agreements, make official statements, collect donations, promise assistance, access confidential records or act on behalf of TUSIC unless separately authorized for the specific responsibility.
Current membership status
Public membership applications are not yet open
Applications should begin only after TUSIC confirms its bylaws, membership categories, eligibility requirements, rights, fees, approval authority and privacy process.
Until then, the general contact form may be used for ordinary questions but should not be treated as a membership application.

Understanding TUSIC membership
Who can become a TUSIC member?
Eligibility will be published after TUSIC approves its membership categories and requirements. No eligibility rule should be assumed before then.
Will membership include voting rights?
Only if TUSIC’s bylaws grant voting rights to the applicable membership category. Not every category must necessarily have the same rights.
Will there be a membership fee?
No fee has been published. Any future fee, renewal period, refund rule or waiver process must be approved and clearly disclosed before payment is requested.
Does membership make someone a volunteer?
No. Volunteer assignments require their own application, screening, confirmation and supervision process.
Does membership guarantee board eligibility?
No. Director qualifications, nominations, elections and appointments must follow TUSIC’s bylaws and applicable governance process.
